Congratulations to authors Robert P. French, Jeremy M. Lyle, Robert J. Lennox, Steven J. Cooke and Jayson M. Semmens, who published the fourth paper in People and Nature February 1st.
The paper ‘Motivation and harvesting behaviour of fishers in a specialized fishery targeting a top predator species at risk’, looks at attitudes and ideas about mako shark fishing of recreational fishers in different Australian sites.
The study found that it was the thrill of the catch that was motivating anglers – a challenge for future management objectives.
